I recall some talk back with PM74 on another thread but not a proper one here for the new album.
As my copy arrived today I discovered that I enjoy this new puppy a lot from the first listening. 'Kill In The Name Of Love' is an instant fave and I'm sure the album will grow exponentially in the next few passes.

Anyone else got it into this one? (btw the ltd. ed. is pretty elegant, worth the extra buck)

I really love it. May very well end up as my album of the year. Chariot is a favorite. #4 (I forget the name) is like Falling to Pieces v.2.0. The ballad is great too. There's not one song I don't like or would skip. And make sure to get the deluxe digi if for no other reason than the greatest cover of Breaking the Law ever recorded.

I think if you liked Allegiance, you'll enjoy Defiance.

Not a bad album, that´s for sure!

However I miss some excellent tunes like in other records. I mean, songs are good but no one is overwhelming in my opinion. In every Firewind album you got a strong overall effort and 2 or 3 outstanding tracks. For me, not in this new one.

Anyway, a good album but maybe my "less favourite" from Firewind.

As I wrote earlier in the thread, Chariot, Embrace The Sun, World On Fire and Losing Faith are all excellent tracks. And even though I'm a bit burned on speedy double bass stuff, The Ark Of Lies and Heading For The Dawn are damn fine tracks too.

though I'm a bit burned on speedy double bass stuff,

Curious you mention it, I'm a lot burned with the stuff, but I don't feel it on the Firewind album as opposite to the new Helloween as example.

I agree with PM74, is the best since "Allegiance".
