"Defiance has just posted a song on their Myspace page from their new long anticipated fourth album and first in over 15 years. They are currently speaking with different labels about releasing the album and will hopefully make a decision in the coming weeks(...)
The song is titled "The Voice" and is a rough mix from the sessions recorded at Trident Studios in Concord, CA."

I have to say that it's pretty extreme for Defiance, so don' t be shocked. The Defiance vibe and technique can be felt and I think it has great potential. However, after two listens I can't get used to Steev's voice yet. It's not as hardcorish as in Skinlab, but still much lower and more aggressive than on the utterly brilliant "Beyond Recognition". Still, I'm pretty sure it will grow on me soon. Hopefully they find a nice label for themselves and resume touring and recording after 15 years.
Oh, and Steev still sounds a little like Chuck after all these years in case you were wondering(Chuck's voice has also lowered as time went by)
