as hell retreats? lol

But i feel your mic placement is a little off.
This seems super harsh and just not clear, i would mess around with your placement a little.
it just lacks a overall smooth sound, and there is a really weird high freq thats cutting through more than it should be.
i would move a lil more off the cap not a ton, just to get that freq tamed out more.

Hey cool to hear someone actually tried it! :D

I would say the mic positions are very good and I'm looking at it through meters and looks extremely promising. I'd say the end result will be very professional sounding. No weird high end but a very even roll off into 7500hz. So little fizz that in a mix it's just enough to blend with the overheads nicely.

The only thing I would change would be to use a noise gate in front of the amp to clean the breaks. Well it's more of a taste issue... I feel it's essential in order to get that "over-produced" tightness. :) Hmm.. what else... well wouldn't change much. I would probably lower the bass just a bit on the amp but it will be easy to get it right with a simple EQ.

End result is a MEATY tone. Exactly what my thread was about. :)
