First time re-amping through blackstar HTstage100

When things aren't panned, everything sounds kind of distant & mushed all together. Seems like there's something odd like the drums are hi passed a little too high. Sounds like just need to take the time to try and pan & EQ things a bit. I guess you were trying to just show what the amp sounded like without being panned there because it started out dual panned? There's something...distant about that sound though. Mic's off axis/too far or something, maybe talk more about the mic & placement.....seems like too much gain also. Dial down the guitar or turn the gain down a tad and it will actually sound even more deadly. If you have two mics, record them on separate tracks for the two takes (so you have 4 tracks), let the "thicker" mic be louder of the two on the left and the clearer (should say 57 mic) be louder on the right (or else just try and EQ the ONE mic so it sounds like you did that and maybe use FreeHaas to create the image of extra mics). Do some more quick jams and post, and if you want..post your individual tracks if you want and let us remix it for you and tell you what we did.

Yea i agree it was my first time recording with the sm57 too. I had two rhythm tracks and two lead guitar tracks panned 100 L and R and then 80 L and R. Im still a noob at mic placement with cabinets so its gonna take a while im assuming to get a good tone. Ill get the dry tracks posted asap.
