FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has entered the studio to begin recording its eighth album, due later in the year. The new disc is once again being helmed by Kevin Churko, the Canadian record producer/engineer and songwriter who currently lives in Las Vegas, where he works out of his private studio, The Hideout Recording Studio. Earlier today, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH tweeted a short video from the latest studio sessions, along with the following caption: "Day ONE in the studio ... What kind of record should we make ... Acoustic Death Metal - Polka Djent Fusion - Doom Funk Dubstep ... or..... ???" FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has yet to announce a permanent replacement for drummer Jeremy Spencer, who left the band in December. After sitting out the fall leg of the group's recent co-headlining tour with BREAKING BENJAMIN, Spencer underwent a second back surgery and will need a significant amount of time to recover. For its fall tour, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH was joined behind the kit by Charlie "The Engine" Engen. It is not clear if he will remain with the group or if they will seek a new and permanent replacement for Spencer. Spencer co-founded FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH in 2005 with guitarist Zoltan Bathory. Last month, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH teamed up with Brian May of QUEEN and two of the biggest names in country and blues rock, Brantley Gilbert and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, to record a special version of "Blue On Black", a blues rock song originally recorded by the KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD BAND in 1998.

Day two at the studio ... The case study of why big balls are the secret weapons of heavy metal ? ...and @zoltanbathory ’s freshly grown tactical beard is in rare form too ? it’s making him write some pretty brütal riffs...
