hey everyone! im new here. thought it was time for my first post :headbang: I recently got a copy of "doomsday for the deciever" on c.d. I had it on cassette back in the day. to be honest I hav'nt heard it in years.I forgot how good it really is! I remember the hoopla back when it came out- that jason was in the band and then went to metallica.musically i'm impressed with it. it sounds like progressive thrash.well,to me anyway lol.lots of diffrent parts with time changes, epic type songs and excellent musicianship. It literally was like hearing it for the first time. are you guys familiar with this record? is there a band you rediscovered after you were into them? please feel free to post your thoughts :D .

Welcome!!! :headbang: Yes, Doomsday is great album and Flotsam is a great band that has put out tons of good material. Thier sound has changed and progressed throughout the years, but still sounds like them. They are probably in my top ten bands and they just released a new CD last month called 'Dreams of Death'. I still have yet to get it, but what I have heard sounds very good.

As for bands I rediscovered...I would say Dream Theater. I bought 'Images and Words' when it came out and liked it quite a bit and even picked up thier first release too. I listened to it for a while and then it sat for years. When they released 'Scenes from a Memory' I heard the tune 'Home' and immediatley bought it and the rest is history. They are my second favorite band behind Savatage and I have seen them around a dozen times since 2000.

I'm only have their first two albums and those are fairly good thrash, just not enough to get me crazy.

I didn't rediscovered FAJ, I just discover them some months ago. I usually never rediscover bands, at the most they passed unnoticed in due time and now they're getting into me.

Those bands I used to hear and then leave aside stay aside for good.

And welcome to the crypt 7163, don't mind the corpses, post hard and enjoy:wave:

Where the fuck is JD in this thread?????????????????

 Right here!

F&J are easily one of my top 5 favorite OS Bands! I think they have gotten better with every album! By the time Cuatro came out They had really found their own sound unlike earlier work when they were riding Metallicas coattails! ... I highly Suggest you Get copies of Cuatro, Drift, High, Unnatural Selection, My God, and their Brilliant new album Dreams of Death ... F&J are by far one of the Most Unique and Underrated Metal Bands out there today! dont let your exploration of this band stop at Doomsday, I really cant begin to tell you what you will be missing if you did!! I really LOVE this band!! go check out their later albums! for you their best material is yet to come!!

as for my own rediscoveries .... None really I still listen to the Old bands I listened to when I was a Kid I just try not to get stuck with them! there are somany new bands out there nowadays that are doing great things I would rather not trap myself in the past :D

New blood is always welcome! So.....welcome! Yeh, i got Doomsday on vinyl, myself,a nd i must say, it is a pretty damn good piece of melodic thrash.

Has anyone here heard the new F&J album? I'm wondering if it's any good or not.
