I suggest the band "hope for the dying." added me on myspace, their recording is a little "bleh" but they just signed to facedown records and seem to have a pretty established following.

I like it, prolly will buy the CD or pre-order it.

i'm new too message board. i just really love metal and like talking about it and help the bands i love. i'll post less.

Just lurk for a little and read some of the previous metal recommendation threads. There is a Metalcore section in General Metal Discussion.

thanks, I will spend some time lurking and see where the proper posting places are.

and YES you can be a fan of all four, granted old-skool metal dominates in a lot of ways, there is some modern metal that you can't deny being great.

Ok Skid Row = Awesome, Iron Maiden = Awesome, As I lay Dying = Shit, All That Remains = Shit.

You cant be a fan of all 4. Fag.

faith no more = metal?

Your opinion just became null and void.

Thanks though! I appreciate it none-the-less, even if you did call me a "fag"

You're right and those two do not apply to "modern metal that you can't deny being great."

Ok, I'll give AILD as something you have to have a preference to, but I can't understand anyone who doesn't like All that Remains just a little bit if they're into metal. Or am I in the wrong forum section altogether?

more like the wrong forum all together. we focus on the other stuff, mostly black and death metal

...and heavy metal, traditional doom, power metal, etc.

All That Remains is a bastardization of every metal aesthetic they utilize (not to mention the atrocious nu-hardcore influence).

Oh well. you know what they say about opinions!

So you hated on ATR and AILD, I'm guessing you hate hope for the dying too then? Or should a make a new list of bands for you to hate?
