For Lizzy Fans: Blackstar Riders

The apple doesn't fall... Scott Gorham's band certainly stays close to his Thin Lizzy roots, but why change a formula when it isn't broke?

The album is quite good but all the best tracks are the first 4 or 5 and then after that it completely tails off for me. I like the track Soldierstown a lot.

Funny that you call it Scott Gorham's band. Yes he's a member and plays in the band. But if you look at the song writing credits, its really Ricky Warwick and Damon Johnson's band. Yes it sounds like Thin Lizzy ... sometimes too much, but its not from Scott Gorham.

Personally I like the band and their two albums. It definitely has a classic sound and its sometimes surprising how much Ricky sounds like Phil. A talented group I've had to pleasure to see a couple of times.
