For Pink Floyd Fans: New Re-releases

Pink Floyd was one of the first 10 bands I fell in love with ever, after KISS and Cheap Trick, amongst others.

I have purchased most of their classic albums so many different times through the years from vinyl, to cassette, and multiple times already on CD. I don't think I would spend any more $$$$ on re-releases, regardless of how special they are.

It's awesome though to see continued and growing interest in the band.

It's odd though since after the last LIVE AID thing they did together a couple years ago Gilmore said he would never play with Waters again. I believe he used the analogy of seeing an ex-girlfriend, where when you see them the next time you remember why you broke up in the first place!!!! :)

I suppose it might happen some day.

I REALLY regret passing up on seeing PF on the Momentary Lapse of Reason and Division Bell tours.

As for me getting these, I'm gonna have to wait to see the price tag. Like you, I've bought a boatload of Floyd shit. However, I am that big (or maybe a little stupid) of a fan to buy these.

There must be something there if Gilmour occasionally keeps appearing at certain Waters gigs. However, as for them actually reuniting in full, I'm not holding my breath.

As for you missing the Momentary Lapse of Reason/Division Bell tours, all I have to say is shame on you.

Well, I was in Jr High for the Momentary Lapse of Reason tours, so I had to rely on having a ride in those days. That was usually my older brother, who wasn't a big Floyd fan ever.

Division Bell came out when I was in High School, and was primarily into punk and hardcore at the time. While I still appreciated PF, seeing them live then wasn't a priority. It was at Soldier Field and VERY expensive too.

I sure hope something comes from it, but then I've been praying for another tour for 15 years now. I saw them on the Division Bell tour and that experience changed me from someone that just liked PF into a life-long fan. I probably won't run out to buy these new versions though unless they have unbeatable extras. I already have at least 2 copies of most of their albums including the Shine On box set.

Edit: I meant holding my breath, not crossing my figures. Wasn't quite with it earlier. :dopey:

I have hopes of another album/tour as well, but it's not going to happen. I hate that I had to pass on the latest Wall tour after hearing a lot about it, but between funds and school, it wasn't meant to be. I'm grateful that I got to see PF live a few times in my life, as those still stand out as lifetime concert highlights that I doubt will ever be knocked off.
