For those who think Phil Anselmo is washed up...

I've given Down a listen or two. I think I needed to give it a few more listens as what I heard was good but nothing that really grabbed me.

Man, his voice is way better than it used to be. He's just getting better with age and has really cleaned up his life. It's really cool to see him doing so well now. Down is probably one of the best metal bands still around today, honestly.

I have always loved Down. I think Nola is one of the best records ever made. I can't wait to hear the new stuff they are making. They all are saying the next CD is going to be heavy like the Nola days. Down is amazing live, especially in a club setting. I can't wait to see them again, Phil is back and on fire!

I've never heard anyone say Phil's washed up. Even at his worst (early to mid 2000's) he was better than most.

I've seen Down live 4 times and they were always fucking great, some of the best shows I've ever been at!

Yeah, even when you couldn't even understand what he was saying between songs, he always delivered vocally. Funnily, it seems that the less hair Phil has, the better he is on stage. :D Man, I must've watched Pantera live in Seoul 2001 a million times back in the day!

edit: This is my favorite part of the show:
