For those who wish to see Metal on BBC 3

Everytime I tune in (and I quite often do) apart from Saturday's with Doom and then Badger, it's always seems to be either Nu Metal or Punk so I'm hardly going to waste my time listening to a full show of shite like that!

I agree.. theres too much nu metal and stuff. Marias sex to 9 is awsome, matts metal lunchbox is cool also, but apart from and some other shows at nite that it seems theres mostly nu metal and punk!

Well I suspect if BBC3 did do a "metal" show it would be more nu metal than you'd like... and Totalrock tries to play a wide variety of music... if you don't like what's playing, interact... request something you'd like to hear!

the expression 'don't bite the hand' springs to mind!

if you don't tune in to the one station that does actually play good metal because you don't like what they play some of the other time, then it wont survive and you'll have nothing again!

I have to agree with Yoda that TotalRock is a long way from being all Nu-Metal. Since I've got broadband I've been able to listen to a lot more than just Malcolm Dome's Show and have been pleasantly surprised by the variety on offer during all the daytime shows.

Can't bear the breakfast show - its a bit too anarchic for an old fart like me, but Sarah Miles show is good and though matt and Krusher's tastes aren't too much aligned with my own they turned out to be way more interesting than I'd expected .. just dont try to get a Kiss request played on Krusher's show - LOL!

Weekday evenings either I'm at the gym or watching footie in the pub, so can't really comment on the evening shows, though I do listen to maria's show when I can. Sleazy H's show plays loads of classic stuff and on a Friday night 3 glorious hours of Power Metal and Hard Rock with Charlie Andrews, followed by another great 3 hrs from Zed. On a Saturday, there's a chance to hear something classic on the twisted Sisterz (not much I'd agree), the classic Rock & Metal Hammer show (generally a poor excuse for classic rock IMHO), Malcolm's show, Badger and then Pandora. Not much to grab me on a sunday, save for the Goth show and then Pandora, but that still makes up a hefty proportion of the Stations output.

Maybe if TR gets a FM licence and expands further it could break into 2 channels - a Classic Station and a more Current Station - a la Capital Radio etc, but first lets help it get a licence so that the whole country has a chance to listen to it!

oh and while we're talking about the BBC ... look what's happened to 6music, that wonderful new music station for us oldies. Been hijacked by fuckin guardian readers and the type of twats who read Q. I listened to Bruce Dickinson's shows a cuple of times, but frankly TR is miles better.

So Yoda Wisest Of The Jedi!

Are you going to use your power of the force and lightsabre skills to promote an evening show dedicated to Euro-Style Power Metal ! Or will you fall prey to the Dark Sith ways of Nu Metal, Skateboards and Jeans that would fit an Elephant?

melodic death metal, florida death metal & death jazz are my poisons... but I keep an open mind to all types of music... hence my avatar... meeting the guys from Mushroomhead rocked.

I don't go for Nu Metal at all...
