For Today recently began recording their next album at New Jersey studio The Machine Shop with Will Putney (Bloodsimple, Haste The Day)
handling production duties.

its nothing new as the band is concerned, but I think the mix is more "live" then most metal mixes. the OH's may be a little to high and compressed in the mix though. A good amount of distortion on the 808 drops too, I just wish they would remove all them completely.

This is what they used for their guitar tone.

I believe they have been done with tracking for quite a while(i think the album may even be out by now).

I like this mix a lot more than the stuff they did with jamie king, but the snare drum bugs me.

I've mixed these guys a few times at various fests and venues and I have to say, their new tunes are a lot better than their old ones.

The drums on their previous releases were just so triggery and fake sounding.... to the point that I recall seeing kids post on their myspace asking if the band recorded with a vkit. My guess is that after those experiences, they're looking for a more "live" sound out of their drums.

And to those who hate on the band's faith... they "sing" about what they believe. Nothing wrong about that.

I think the anti-christian metal band is a bit over played and cliche... I"d love to see an anti-islam band. Not that I'm anti-islamic, but I think if you really are that brutal and offensive, you'd have the balls to insult people that would actually kill you.

LMAO:lol:

I'm in no way anti islamic(well, maybe just towards the violent ones), but i laughed out loud at this statement.

^ we also played various gigs around here with them, pretty cool dudes.

And, man they sounded real real good with SHITTY crappy Amps and drums.
Not my preffered band/music, but their live performance made me happy :)
