Forbidden shared the following message on April 19 from Sharkbite Studios, where they have been busy recording their new album:
“It was 2 years ago today that Forbidden was officially reborn. It started with this F and finally dropped with the N nine days later.
Since then we’ve played many successful festivals and shows throughout Europe, South America, Mexico, the United States and the Bay Area. It all started with an offer from the Alcatraz Festival in Belgium and from Death Angel here in the Bay.
In between all of these amazing gigs we’ve been writing and finally recording new material. We’ve also introduced Dan Mongrain (Voivod) into the creative and live fold.
To say we’re living in somewhat of a dream come true is not an exaggeration.
If you’ve seen us live, bought some swag, watched our shows on YouTube, or just like our posts as you wait for us to arrive in your territory… THANK YOU! Thanks to each and every one of you that have been supporting us through the first steps on this journey.
The release of our first new song, “Divided By Zero”, will be announced very soon. Stay tuned!”
Forbidden previously issued the following update:
“Norman L Skinner III wrapped up his vocals yesterday. This is the first batch of Forbidden songs we’ve recorded since 2010. He put his heart, soul and guts into these tracks. Stylistically 100% Skinner! He is very much his own man as an artist.
As we create new music, there is a deep respect, admiration and appreciation for Russ Anderson. NOBODY had more vocal tools in their bag than Russ. He led the metal world in that regard. 1 of 1.
This being said, we feel that Forbidden fans will be ecstatic with the results of Norm’s work. His lyrics and melodies fit together seamlessly with the rest of our catalogue as well as take us into the future with authority.”
Bloodstock Open Air organizers recently released the video below, along with the following message:
“Bay Area thrash metal legends, Forbidden, made their long-awaited return to UK soil with a devastatingly powerful full set performance at Bloodstock Open Air 2024, proving that their legacy is not just alive—it’s on fire. Taking over the main stage at Catton Park on August 10th, Forbidden unleashed a relentless barrage of classic thrash fury that left thousands of fans in awe.
With a setlist packed full of fan favorites and technical masterpieces, Forbidden delivered a sonic assault that was both precise and punishing.
