Former ANTHRAX axeman Dan Spitz has put down his electric guitar and reinvented himself as an artist by learning the rare Weissenborn lap slide guitar played by few and mastered by only a handful. Spitz explains the lyrical content of "Little Voices": "The unwritten words and bond of love between children on the autism spectrum and their parent is something unexplained. It is what the song 'Little Voices' conveys in its message. The word autism is not used at all in the lyrical content just for that reason. It need not be said. It just can't be. The words will bring you through an emotional ride so real, no matter who you are, good luck not being touched in some form or fashion." " Spitz is a single father to identical twin sons who are both on the autism spectrum and his life-long goal is to help children and families through these avenues, and to enlighten the public to the word autism, with zero connection to any organization. A relentless task of work ethic placed upon him and his heart to do so. According to the CDC, as of 2014, one in 42 boys born, one in 68 children will be on the autism spectrum. The DII duo takes the blues base that heavy metal was derived from and transforms it into "a new music for a new era."
