Ahead of his upcoming shows in Australia this June, former Fear Factory vocalist, Burton C. Bell, spoke with Iain McCallum about the dates, and more. Watch the video below.
Asked what fans can expect to hear at the Australian shows, Bell reveals, “I’m not going to give away the setlist right now, I mean obviously there’s a show, our last show you can find here and there on YouTube, we were opening up for God Forbid. But obviously I have a 30+ year career, which has various projects in it – Fear Factory, Ascension Of The Watchers, Geezer Butler’s first solo record Plastic Planet, and I did two City Of Fire records. So on top of my original songs that I’ll be playing for the Australian audiences, I’ll be just pulling songs that fit the idea and concepts that I want to do moving forward. I’ve come up with a mantra which is “heavy, groovy, dark, and moody,” so if it fits that, I’m bringing it in. I’m not a cover band, I’m not doing FF 2.0, I’m reimagining these songs to fit my narrative. So it’s not going to be completely different, but I’m adding a new twist to it instead of keyboards, I got a second guitar player doing those sounds. So both guitar players are going to be switching off between leads and rhythm. To me, it just makes it heavier.”
