I've recently formed a new project with my two best friends. It's funny, we've been talking about starting a band since 7th grade, but it just recently is taking shape. (I'm 24)

We aren't going for pure metal, but more of a hard rock/thrashy project in the style of Viking Skull, Clutch, Motorhead. That is how I would classify it.

The project is still brand new, but we have almost a full song finished. It feels good to be excited about band practice once again! I haven't been in a band in over three years...ouch.

I am definitely rusty, but I have forgotten how much of a positive effect playing with others in a band environment can have for your playing.

Cheers

Dude...fuck yeah, I'm really glad to hear it! You mentioned you felt bad about slacking in your playing, but I know few things motivate me to really work on my playing/music writing like knowing I have the prospect of playing it live with a bunch of guys, so I hope this works out for ya! Keep us posted! :headbang:

Thanks man! Will do...

Me and the other guitar player have been in various hardcore/metal bands, but we just want to have something kickass, somewhat simple, and to write great songs. He is actually moving over to drums to it will be a new challenge for him.

Looking to mix in some serious groove oriented Clutch style riffs, and some stoner oriented stuff too.

We really aren't limiting ourselves stylistically at all. We all listen to such a wide variety of shit that we would like to incorporate it all.

Rock, Metal, Blues, Classic rock, whatever!

I'm just happy to finally get out there again. I've been a gear whore over the past few years but am ready to just start writing and jamming! And yes, I'm hoping my playing cleans up like it used to be. I'm also looking to improve my lead playing abilities.

Will keep you guys posted.

Yeah Joe, that sounds fucking fantastic :kickass:

I also love it to play in a band, each saturday a great metal party with some beer and riffs..haha. Keep us updated about the progress in your band, dude!! What´s the name of your band? Idea already?

Greetz,

Felix

Thanks guys! Really appreciated...

NO freaking clue on a name yet. That will be the hardest struggle!

I will provide updates.
