Interesting gig -
Bash -
ok, this band got old FAST. I'm all for drunken metal, but this band took it to a ridiculous level. Stupid songs, stupid lyrics and a very annoying lead singer. Bash was just getting on my nerves talking about drinking on every break between the songs... ALRIGHT! I get it, you like drinking! JUST SHUT UP AND PLAY!!!
New Eden -
These guys were really good, but I just wish I could hear more of the vocals on the live setting.
Wood -
Great driving music, but not much to write home about. Their set started off with a bang, sounded like it would be fun... that is until the singer broke a string on his guitar mid song... Then the fog machine went nuts, spewing fog every two minutes, and they had two... they even had a fog machine guy operating, on cue, the fog machine on a doll wearing a Saddam Hussein mask (there was another doll with a Dubya mask). They even had a giant spider coming down from the ceiling, and it had a can of silly string attached to it to simulate spiderweb. Anyway... you get the point... it was silly...
The Iron Maidens -
Great as always. Jen's voice was shot, but you could not really tell, since she still hit all the notes and all the screams. Jojo was surprised during Hallowed, with a giant cookie to celebrate her birthday.
There were some technical difficulties, like the firepits shorting out the power and the mics going dead, but things were handled with grace... as always. See ya at Hogues
