FOZZY — the band featuring former WWE wrestling superstar Chris Jericho alongside members of STUCK MOJO — has inked a new record deal with Sony Music. The group's last three albums — 2012's "Sin And Bones", 2014's "Do You Wanna Start A War" and 2017's "Judas" — were released through Century Media. Jericho announced FOZZY's new label home in a Twitter video Wednesday night. He said: "All right, guys. It's a big night. After seven records, FOZZY is now signing a new deal with Sony Music. How cool is that? I mean, it doesn't get any bigger than that. Thanks to all of you guys who helped us get to this point, signing with Sony. And I'm gonna do it right in front of you right here right now." After putting his signature on the contract, Chris continued: "It's official. FOZZY is on Sony Music. We're in the big time now." Jericho added in an accompanying message: "So honored and thanks to all of the #FozzyFanatics WORLDWIDE! Our next record is going to be HUGE!" The production duties on "Judas" were handled by Johnny Andrews, who co-wrote FOZZY's "Lights Go Out" track back in 2014 and has written songs with the likes of ALL THAT REMAINS, THREE DAYS GRACE and HALESTORM in the past. Last fall, Jericho — who had made his name wrestling in the Extreme Championship Wrestling and World Championship Wrestling organizations — told Global News that FOZZY was planning to return to the studio as soon as possible. "My major project for the last 10 years has been FOZZY," he said. "I base other things around the FOZZY schedule. Once we decided to put everything behind the band and go full force, that's when you continue to really grow as a band. The last 18 months have been amazing and we'll be writing again with the idea that we'd like to be back in the studio as soon as we can. We're in this for the long run, just as long if it's as good, if not better, than the 'Judas' album. We now have to top that. [Laughs]" Jericho co-founded FOZZY with guitarist Rich Ward in Atlanta in 1999. The band's first two albums, "Fozzy" (2000) and "Happenstance" (2002), were made up primarily of cover songs.
