My band just released a 4 song EP over at http://tideofempire.bandcamp.com to try and get some exposure and word out. I recorded & mixed the 4 songs... it's def not metal, that's for sure! If you enjoy barely distorted guitars, then you might dig this. We jokingly call ourselves "indie alt pop dad rock".
The main tracks were recorded live in our rehearsal space, which is also the playroom for one of our guitarist's kids. I had a lot of fun micing up my drums with the whopping 7' high ceilings. Bass was monitored via GK amp and the recorded signal is from the amp's DI. Guitars were both SM 57, a Tele through a Peavey Bandit 112 and a Strat through a Fender Frontman 25r. Yes, we rock the quality gear, indeed. Everything went through my Tascam US-1641, vocals and acoustic was recorded separately through an AT 2020.
This is more of a hobby and an excuse to get together for a few hours each week to make noise and drink beers, but we thought it would be fun to record some of the songs and put 'em online. Enjoy!
