Free concert Nov 22: Beethoven

Steph Harris

Maidens' Bass
I figured I'd post something free to do (esp. with Christmas coming up) if you're not doing anything this Fri . Anyway, I'm playing w/the Costa Mesa Symphony Nov 22 @ 8pm @ the Vanguard University Chapel Auditorium. 2599 Newport Bld, Costa Mesa, CA. Admission is FREE!:) We're doing Beethoven's Symphony #7, The Egmont Overture, and the Emperor Piano Concerto #5 featuring renowned international concert pianist Siegfried Tepper.

That Beethoven symphony is great. I was always amazed at how he still composed after he went deaf. I'll see if I can make it. Just curious how you became involved with the symphony?

Damn...this is not too far from where I work, but I also might be working the Creeping Death gig at Hogue's. :(

Been playing with different orchestras for a while now. Usually, a contractor calls me if they need a bass player for a concert. For this concert, the conductor asked me to play- he's a bass player too and a friend of mine.

hi steph,

you don't know me, but that is pretty darn cool. my pals from the s.f. bay area, 'sweet leaf' would be interested in doing a show or two with the maidens if their schedules permit.

one thing you have in common with the SL bassist is he plays in symphonies as well! just thought i'd chime in...
