yeah, me too, but sometimes they are so expensive. Even 12$ hurts. I know they work for it and everything, but I work for my money too.

I think $12 is a reasonable price, sadly most of the price doesn't come from the band as much as from the greed of the label/distributors.

And what happened to consumers without computers and/or Internet, will music become an even major elitism?

And once music only become downloadable, what stop label to put the price at $5.00 per song instead of $0.99?

Thoughts?

well I try not to download illegal stuff, but being the computer idiot I am...how do I tell if it's right there on my screen??? I do a lot of band site downloads, and if by chance I get an illegal one it's because I really, really want to hear the release and NO DOUBT I'm going to buy the real thing. I\

I believe in the artists rights and all, but jeez, the feds here just finally made it so they can bust the site that provides the info and not just the person downloading. I'm also leary of paying for downloads, how do I know that the artist will get compensation? They now are changing the format of cd's so you can't burn...but then someone will come out with a program that makes it okay....then they'll create something else....and someone will figure that out too.

Weird thing sortof on topic, we talked to Dennis from Symphorce a while back and he says that they get more money when you buy there records from an amazon or best buy than they do if you buy directly from the label...I certainly didn't really understand other than to say it's something in the contract. :ill:

Wyvern, where do you find a $12 CD?? Tower records here average price is about 15.99- 20.99, no better at Virgin Records. We have Ameoba music here and they are a local (3 in CA) store. They have a great used area spanning all genres and gaurantee their used cds. I have been doing more online shopping but like the sites with free shipping the best if their prices are comparable with other sites.

At 2000, great year for purchases

Mostly nowhere these days, I was referring to the previous post.

Tower is highway robbery, I used to get some stuff there (while living in Reno) but only before I could get online buying. Once my comp, CC and postal address were set...kiss Tower goodbye!

Now living in CA, and taking for granted you have a CC then:
