Full stream of my album project (75 min - Prog Metal)

I checked sections from a few songs, and there's definitely more melodic thing going on than in most of the worthless shit put out these times, but it boils down to what final vision you have for each keyboard sound. What kind of vocals? Some songs could have pig squeal in them, others sound like Nightwish. Darken your tones and make something personal. Something I don't like is when it speeds up with melodies for no reason. I'd say darken the tones, don't be afraid to add industrial elements, and maybe go with some type of weird extreme vocals. I know most garage metal bands want to be like the other rock stars out there, but if you can't do that, then be realistic and choose a more narrow category/style/genre. If your music is a mix of everything, likely nobody will care.

Do what you will man, I personally am a sucker for dark riffing, eery melodies, industrial keys etc, and I think these days you have to stand out with a very special sound world to gain an audience, or else just try to attract mainstream. I see the typical scenario when an aspiring artist has reached a list of totally different songs, trying out different things. Maybe set an album project where you choose a theme and uniting sound world. I just listened to more of it and there's so much happy hippy stuff. Get rid of that and darken it up to something like this, quite similar vocals, but as for the music maybe you can alter some notes to sound darker. Unless you wanna sound speed metal.

Pretty cool, although I didn't really see much prog about it. Do you like symphony x by chance? For some reason they kinda popped in my head . Good luck with the recording btw

Yeah that solo especially haha. Mostly it was the way the keyboard was used that reminded me of them, which is a compliment since they're an awesome band
