Gamma Ray - Majestic

Land of the Free! Their all-time classic IMO. Also Somewhere Out in Space and Powerplant :)

Actually Majestic is my least favorite of the last 5 records (since Kai Hansen took over on vocals), it's a solid one but it lacks more fresh ideas which had been Gamma Ray's motto for 15 years. But if you dig that one you'll very likely love the previous albums as well ;)

I knew I could count on you! :D got a friend on another board that recomended the same exzact albums hehehe he said Majestic is the worst .. I say if thats the worst I cant wat to hear the others! Thanks dude!

BTW is your Avatar the Mascot of GR? and is the creature's name Fangface?

I really like Majestic. It kicks ass. Ive got Blast From The Past and Majestic. Im really happy with those. What else should i get. Is Power Plant and NWO worth getting?

Well, yes... and no :)

No because Fangface was Helloween's mascot originally in the early Helloween days (1984-86), and that's where I got my screen name from.
Still, many years after leaving Helloween, Kai Hansen brought back the Fangface mascot on the Land of the Free cover and now it has somewhat become Gamma Ray's mascot, kinda "stolen" to Helloween who haven't used it since the early days. But Kai Hansen was in many ways the spirit of early Helloween so I guess he has the right to do so ;)
My avatar picture is the GR's Fangface (Somewhere Out in Space layout), not the Helloween one, even though they're technically the same :D

Oops I think I must have confused you a little bit now :loco:

Blast from the Past is a compilation of re-recordings actually, if you like it you can't be disappointed by Powerplant :headbang: Very hard-hitting record.

NWO is simpler and slower (for GR standards that is), even more rooted in old-school metal than the other GR records but that gives a fresh or at least different sound to the album.

The first 3 albums featured Ralf Scheepers (now in Primal Fear) on vocals, there's also a lot of good material to be found on these.

Gamma Ray is one of those bands that will lead you to buying the entire catalog eventually. There's a lot to like on every single disc, going back to the debut "Heading For Tomorrow". I like the Ralf Scheepers era quite a bit,
so I'll recommend "Insanity & Genius" & "Sigh No More".....
