So Steve Harris has said that this will be Maiden's last tour. They may do the odd festival gig after this, but in terms of touring in support of an album, this is it. So to go out on a high note, they've chosen to have Gamma Ray as the support. What a perfect combination. How could anyone ask for more? Well apart from the fact that Gamma Ray are supporting everywhere except the UK. We, on the other hand, get Funeral For A Friend. Sigh :-(

Maiden can be real wankers sometimes.
Gamma Ray for Europe, then giving the UK support to Funeral for a Friend? Thats a bit of a kick in the teeth. Support for the UK shows should have been Metal bands at least if not Gamma ray. I heared as well that paris are getting Helloween.

No Word on who is playing the Dublin show yet.

Similarly, FFAF's website doesn't mention any tourdates after the European gigs in November. There's still a chance we'll get someone decent. I mean, they were supported by Dio and Motorhead earlier this year and Halford and Queensryche in 2000, and those are some damn big names.

Incidentally, does anyone know who's supporting Metallica at the London gig on December 20th?

Europe is also getting Funeral For A Friend too. Gamma Ray are only doing the first ten shows then heading of to South America with Masterplan. Funeral For A Friend are supporting most of the other European gigs. Also Funeral For A Friend are not confirmed for the UK and Ireland tour yet.

I don't think Maiden are worthy of supporting Gamma Ray.
