Gamma Ray

Seriously, I love everything that they have released. For some reason, when I first got Powerplant I couldn't get into it. I liked it, but it didn't grab me like their other releases. I didn't listen to it for a few months, then when I listened to it again, it seemed like I was listening to something I hadn't heard before, and I got hooked on it. Maybe my biorhythms were down or something when I first got it. I don't know. But they are one of the bands that I can always count on to release stuff that I like. It always seems like they're having fun, too, which I really like. Gamma Ray always cheers me up.

One of the best German Metal bands, although I like their more experimental and diverse older albums more than their newer ones. "Heading for Tomorrow" is still my favourite GR album. "Land of the Free" is also great!

I only have no world order, it's top notch power metal with great riffs and everything but it doesn't really break much new ground, the song 'Heaven or Hell' had me singing 'I want out' on the chorus parts.

However as it's Kai Hansen I'm willing give them credit, really liked the drums and I think Kai's voice is very cool.

I got hooked on Gamma Ray with No World Order. I then just went ahead and ordered their remaster box set from The End Records only having heard a few various songs, and I'm so glad I did. I really think Heading For Tomorrow is one of the best ones in there.

I love Gamma Ray but I have only had the privledge to hear the Insanity and Genius album, I've had it for about a year now and I listen to it atleast once a week still. I have also heard a few songs off No World Order, i'd like to get some more of thier shit but all in all I say Powermetal at it's Finest

A lot of people don't like hammerfall, but love gamma ray apparently. I don't really see a difference musically, and lyrically it's fairly similar (like i said, only difference is knights or space). As for image... well, has anyone ever seen the group pics for the powerplant album??

I dunno man, I think Gamma Ray has a little bit of sense of humor about themselves (or else why would Kai pose for his pic on the ESP website wearing a fuzzy black pimp jacket??), whereas I really dont get that from Hammerfall.
