Gary Holt: I want to have the new album tracked by december...

Oh no! That's a big bummer. I had just started to LOVE Exodus and I like Steve a lot more than Paul. I REALLY hope they'll find a suitable replacement and not some wannabe tough guy. Sorry, Hawk. I cannot be as confident as you are. Tempo rules big time and the guys need to be awesome on their next album to convince me.

:) Th new album is gonna slay. Don't worry. I understand your trepidation but its gonna be alright. Steve has been holding them back by his *behaviour*. You will see them touring a lot more and also be more active on the promotion bit.

And I think they will be releasing albums faster now. In fact it was Steve that was holding his up for all these years.

Now they can go full speed ahead.

Granted! But Steve did a hell of a job on TOTD. And this is basically all I care about - the music. I don't give a damn about how active they are promotion-wise or how fast they can put out new records. I'd rather wait 2 years and have a real killer album than getting 3 stinkers within the same time.

Dude, who said anything about stinkers? Read the original message. Seems like you make things up as you write them.

Just wait and see. The next album is gonna be great. Gary has to write all his frustrations into aggressive thrash classics. A happy metal musician writes crappy albums, while a frustrated unhappy metal musician will write a great aggressive album.

Ask Jeff Water from Annihilator, after he divorced he wrote one of his best and aggressive albums ever [Criteria for a Black Widow].

To be honest however I must admit I am thrilled they dumped that Zetro looser. I could not stand the fucker. Even though he did *a little better* on the last album.

O btw someone should really beat up those guys from Metallica take away all their money, their houses and cars and certainly all their booze and drugs. Then take them to a studio and see what they come up with.

you wanna bet that it would be aggressive?

Btw will you be going to the oktober fest?
Stroling around the Muenchener Wiesn?

@ Hawk -

No, man. You misunderstood me. I didn't want to say Exodus (or any other band) will put out a stinker because they release albums more frequently. I only wanted to say that I prefer quality over quantity. Don't worry, I will give the new Exodisc a fair chance just as I did with the new Metal Church. I'm very skeptic, that's all. If you remember you should know that I got into Exodus only recently. Tempo and Pleasures were like revelations to me and now Steve quits. Too bad!!!

No, I probably won't go to the Oktoberfest this year. You know, if you live in my area you can go to similar XXX-fests all the summer where it's much cheaper and the fairground rides are the same as at the Oktoberfest. So the only thing I'm gonna miss are drunk guys from all over the world wearing silly Bavarian hats. And I had that last year and in 2001 as well.

OK I am sorry. I seem to have misinterpeted your post.

I see. Well, I saw the opening of the fest by the Burgomasteron the ARD at 12 o clock this morning. He needed 3 strikes to get the peg in the biertonne :)

Talk to you again

No problem, shit happens. I'm just a bit surprised because you seem to not remember our conversation about Exodus early this year. It was actually you who talked me into giving them another chance. Remember now? I wasn't very fond of BBB (and I still think POTF is leaps ahead) and therefore never cared that much about Exodus. I also consider Steve to be the better singer than Paul. Must have been around January or February.

Will you be at the Oktoberfest?

Yes now I remember. I don't know why I did forget. As for the Oktoberfest, I am not a beerdrinker but, since our stay in Bavaria I know I want to go back there again. I really liked it there. I have a feeling I have not seen enough. I enjoyed the place, the culture, the history, and the people.

Right now I am talking with my best friend to go there in February. Were do you live?

I hope the next Exodus album can match Tempo Of The Damned. I have a lot of faith in the band but don't forget that Exodus are renowned for releasing an awesome album and following it up with a crap one.

For example Bonded By Blood then Pleasures Of The Flesh (although not crap it's hardly impressive)

Fabulous Disaster followed by Impact Is Imminent AND Force Of Habit

Vicinity of Regensburg. A bit to the north. I'm surprised that you actually enjoyed the people here, hahaha. Many foreigners complain about Bavarians being cold to strangers. Especially my area. This is no joke, I'm serious.

Don't you think your theory stands on shaky ground with all these exceptions to your rule, hahaha. :D

Well, we did not have that problem because we hate foreigners also!!

No, seriously, I speak almost fluently German so maybe that solves a lot of problems. We found the people we encountered almost without exception very friendly. At our camping we met an elderly couple who invited us in the evening to chat and put the elements of our ice box into their freezer.

They were surprised that we as Dutchmen did not dislike Germans. There's some stupid feud between Dutchmen and Germans over football and they had some bad experiences with my countrymen.

When we were in Nurenberg we did not know to to get tickets for the public transport there were several people offering help.

Also the people who owned and run the hostel near Berchtesgaden were very friendly often they chatted with us between helping other customers.

I guess it depends a bit on how you react to people when you are in their country. I am really looking forward going back there.
