Tate had trouble singing these songs when I saw him do a Mindcrime tour 15 years ago. Hard to imagine how bad it's got to suck now, but maybe he was just having an off night. Anyone seen him recently?

Not seen Tate live since the breakup, however I have many a friend state that GT can still do it live, and I think this might convince me to attend before he hangs it up. That said, buyer beware, and do your homework as there are plenty of online sources to view/listen to live recordings of his shows.

Not trying to choose sides, but I am still a firm believer in the live product that the "real" QR has been producing, and was especially impressed by vocalist Todd LaTorre nailing a lot of the early stuff during their most recent "Origins" tour.

GEOFF TATE Is Gearing Up To Release Operation: Mindcrime III - "It Has More Of An Early QUEENSRŸCHE Feel; I Am Just In Love With It"

"...Original Queensrÿche singer Geoff Tate recently guested on Rock Of Nations With Dave Kinchen And Shane McEachern, and during the interview he discussed his plans for Operation: Mindcrime III, the continuation of the saga he created with Queensrÿche...."

I would say it has more of an early Queensrÿche feel; super heavy, and some of 'em (the songs) are incredibly technical. They're like algebra; you need a calculator when you're listening to the song (laughs). Of course, some of them are very emotional. It's the last chapter in the Mindcrime series. It's following the exploits of Dr. X and Nikki and Sister Mary, and picks up at a particular point in their story and kind of does the microscope of what is happening at that particular time with them. I am just in love with it. I am so happy with everything so far, and I can't wait for people to hear it.
