german bands

i was wondering if you people like any bands from germany or if you could recommend me some/

i like rammstein,tanzwut,megaherz,in extremo, dark suns,umbra et imago!

Only German band that I listen to is Blind Guardian. I can't reccomend them more! A Night At The Opera is one of the most epic, bombastic albums I know! One of my favorites! Nightfall In Middle Earth is also an unbelievable classic!

There are some nice bands from here doing so-called "Mittelalterrock" what means "Medieval Rock". The most popular three are In Extremo, Subway to Sally and the even better Schandmaul.

Besides there are alot of Pagan Metal Bands. The nicest ones are probably Adorned Brood, Equilibrium, Falkenbach, Fjoergyn, Menhir and XIV Dark Centuries.

Other than that I can recommend you Samsas Traum. They are quite a sell-out band nowadays but started up with some awesome albums and are doing some kind of gothic black metal advantgarde stuff. "Oh Luna Mein" is the best record in my opinion.

you should listen to haggard... they are great!!!! they sing half in english half in german. the last album EPPUR SI MUOVE (they sing also in italian now!!! it's a concept album about galilei's life) is a masterpiece. more aggressive than the other but still very orchestral!!!

Haggard are great, too!
I forgot Angizia. They mix Piano music with metal and rock. But on "Das Schachspiel des Trommelbuben Zacharias" the vocalists try to immitate a Russian accent, sounds terrible... but the music is still great!

If you are into grind/hardcore, check out Japanische Kampfhörspiele. Even if you are not able to speak out that name the music is very unique and innovative yet a bit sick.

I can recommend you Helrunar "Frostnacht" I almost cried when I heard them and could easily join the words "metal" and "original" together. Also Sun of the Sleepless from the mastermind of Empyrium, Markus Stock and Nachtmahr from Markus and Thomas Helm (the vocalist on Weilland of Empyrium) anyway in general take a look to Prophecy Productions (and its sub labels) bands.

Lefay, I'll start exploring all the bands people are listing. I'm not a big thrash fan though so I doubt I'll like Kreator or Destruction (I've heard Sodom already)
