Ghoulspoon is an original band from San Diego that mixes elements of twisted hard rock with live hip-hop and creepy reggae, usually in the same song. Through hundreds of shows with the likes of 311, Korn, Deftones, Sugar Ray, Sublime, Kottonmouth Kings, Kid Rock, Zebrahead, Incubus, Coal Chamber, (hed)pe, Dial-7, Sprung Monkey, Unwritten Law, Buck-O-Nine, Phunk Junkeez, and No Doubt, the band's explosive live experience has earned it a die-hard following throughout Southern California.
Since 1992, Ghoulspoon has sold thousands of demos, 7-inches, and CD's, including 1993's to serve man, the band's seld-released debut album. Besides having songs on the soundtracks to several surf/skate/snow films and countless compilation albums, the bands music has also been featured on Jim Rome's nationally syndicated talk show and several ESPN specials. Ghoulspoon has also been nominated for the San Diego Music Awards four times.
In 1996, Ghoulspoon's latest Full-length CD, "Medication", was released by San Diego based Immune Records. The album, which fuses mind bending hard rock with hip-hop, reggae, and DJ scratching, quickly became the #1 selling local album in San Diego.
Ghoulspoon's insane live show, which includes X-mas lights, Halloween props, and an eight-foot tall Frankenstein, also regularly features cover songs by Bob Marley, Motley Crue, The Cars, Bad Brains, Pixies, and Devo. These eclectic influences have earned them a diverse and loyal following whom the band keeps in contact with through it's huge mailing list and website. If the tour van holds up, Ghoulspoon will be on the road forever.
