Gimme a new band listen to

[Genius Gone Insane]

Some good CDs out in 2012, but nothing new has blown me away. I would say Leprous (2011) is the only new band that has blown my mind recently, and they are barely metal.

I listen to Dimmu, Nevermore, Fear Factory, etc. Heavy and melodic with good vocals. Any new band recommendations?

Ihsahns solo stuff is really nice (and easier to get into than NeO ) and I felt in love with the safety fire.

Maybe you know these bands already but the bands you listed were pretty mainstream (as far as metal goes) and I know tons of people who have heard of fear factory but have never heard the bands I listed.


I try to be as open minded as possible when listening to music, for example I listen to periphery and anathema (their newer non-metal stuff) and also listen to dying fetus and aborted maybe you should try other styles of music as well? I just see no reason to be asking for only heavy+melodic music instead of the both extremes individually (sorry maybe I sound like a douche)
