Hey guys,

I've learnt so much from this forum that I wanted to give something back. I don't know if you'll dig this, but hey... fuck off... it's free! :D

This is a Pearl ELX kick, mic'd with an Audix D6. Treated with some EQ and compression. Eight channels - direct mic, all the bleeds from the rest of the microphones, and the overheads. So you can mix it to taste.

I've got some toms and a snare too. Will upload those soonish.

It is awesome mate :)

Much prefer it to the Shure Beta 52A that I've been using - however I quite like the Shure on the floor tom, which is what we did today!!
 
The d6 doesn't require that special finding of the sweet spot and is easy to dial in. Never used the Beta 52a but my drummers kit was miked live with one and it sounded alright. I'm a big fan of Audix mics though. I still have those other mics if ur still interested.
 
Well it was going to be a Blackstar, but I'm really anal about channel switching on amplifiers. So it'll either by a Fryette Sig: X (which was my original choice) or I'll save a bit more and get a Diezel.

You have to remember, we don't really do the melodic-death metal type of thing that is popular around here. Mesa and 5150 isn't really the tone I am after.

Trigger TCI's for this kick - WITHOUT any processing.

You get the following TCI files:

KickDir - Audix D6
KickBleed - Variety of microphones on all the other elements of the kit (toms, snare, oh's)
KickOHL - SE Electronics SE1
KickOHR - SE Electronics SE1

There is also a full preset, which loads all the TCI's into Trigger.

Hope some people find this useful - it's actually not too bad in terms of dynamics.
