Everything. I wasn't expecting it to be great, but it was. Downey is perfect as the playboy billionaire. There is a lot more comedy than I expected and it stayed pretty true to the comics (at least the limited amount that I read back in the day).

Clever dialouge ("Sorry, I had to do a piece for Vanity Faire"), gnarly action sequences (final battle!), ridiculous premise that could only happen in a comic, story wasn't bogged down with pointless side plots and cliches..

yeah, i pretty much agree. It was the movie that the Fantastic Four wanted to be. It was cool, funny, hip and action packed. ILM did the FX work, so you know it was all top notch.
Well written, it moved along nicely and had a good cast.

What he said. It's worth watching for Downey Jr. and Bridges' performances alone.

And, Tony Stark is doing a cameo in the upcoming Hulk movie.

hmm i was pretty skeptical about this after watching some 2007 anime lookin Ironman because it was the most boring terrible sucky piece of shit evar, but this seems to be getting universally positive reviews so maybe i'll go see it.
