God Forbid's EARTHSBLOOD

I've always liked God Forbid, but I thought they hadn't put out an album that was reflective of their potential.

Well, guess what?

EARTHSBLOOD is that album!

The songs are very well constructed, aggressive and musical, and epic.

The Opeth influence is there, yet it still sounds very much like a God Forbid album. I think this is an album that will be hard to beat when the Best Of 2009 lists come around. It will definately be in my Top 10.

I too would urge nay sayers to give it a go before tossing it out the window.

And on a side note, I don't think it sounds TOO much like Opeth, but the song structuring is there...more so than with the last albums.

There are other bands, like November's Doom, that sound more 'Opethian,' but in the end, a fantastic album.

Novembers Doom sounds NOTHING like Opeth, and the band has been around longer!

They sound more like them now, from the last album. But I agree...before then, and especially the old stuff, they sound nothing like them...
