good distortion plugin

My 2 cents would be to use an amp sim and cab with impulses for the bass. Many are suggested in the sticky (at least as far as guitars). I mix between the clean bass tone and the distorted. I tend to use more of the natural bass tone than the distorted tone myself.

+1 for amp sim. Most plugins for distortion I see are just bit crushers and compressors.

Mult you bass track, bandpass and distort.

Or distort and bandpass.

Or bandpass, distort and bandpass again.

ah im really loving that sound toys plug! im demoing it right now

i just got alot of money last week and im ready to get some new stuff!
