Just picked it up today, a dark blue 2002 Mazda Protege5!!! I freakin' love the thing already, it's incredibly nimble and really stiffly sprung so it handles great, and the engine has great low-end pull, though kinda runs outta tug after 3,500 RPM (but I can't complain, it's only a 2.0L I4, after all). And for anyone who would call it a soccer mom mobile because it's a "5-door hatchback" (NOT a wagon   ), first of all, with all cars offered in both styles (Subaru Impreza, Mazda3, Kia Spectra, etc.), I always think the hatchback variety is way sleeker than a truncated little notchback variety - and second, I've got a 4x12, a 2x12, 2.5 heads, and 2 guitars, this thing will be a godsend!!

Here's the cars.com listing for it

Hahahaha, thanks guys - I am planning on getting a good head unit and speakers, but I think I'll leave out the amps and subs, cuz I've never been too bass hungry on account of barely ever having the use of a sub (whether it be on computer speakers, home theater, etc.), and if I've got cash to burn, I'd rather put it towards guitar/recording schtuff! Otherwise, I think I'll keep the upgrades to a better muffler/tip, and better tires - fortunately, my car-pimping fantasy days were over long before I had the money to fulfill them!

Hahahhahhaahaha, I appreciate you providing the vid, cuz I had no clue what that was (and I think it'd be pretty hard to do with a manual tranny anyway ;)) - I have to say, that song has a very old-school vibe to the rhyme scheme and chorus, I actually kinda like it :erk: :D

No offense to the ride bro... but dont EVER list the "specs" of an econo ride like that... thats just hilarious, lol

I bought one of these last week to replace my 02 intrepid (that only had 49k miles on it but still insisted on being a piece of shit):

2005 accord. 46K miles.

Honda for the win (they retain their value like a motherfucker).

Hahaha, yes yes, but in my defense, the only "spec" I listed was the engine size, and that was because I was surprised how much low-end pull it had despite it's econo-car leanings. And I think it still looks sweet as all hell!

I refuse to acknowledge retarded urban terminology like the word "whip", so even though the context makes it pretty clear, I'm going to keep pretending that I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about.

Congrats Dude! 1st car?

Yes indeed, thanks man! Just ordered a bitchin' receiver and speakers from Crutchfield totalling $575, can't wait! (especially because there's a CD jammed in the current deck  )

Ah, of course, how foolish of me - what I meant to say is "Got me a hooptie!!"
