great day today. got a call form a studio owner that he needed an engineer tonight to record some some acoustic stuff. I've worked at this studio before, but not for a very long time. i get up there, set up the mics... and pro tools wont open! had to reboot the computer 4 times only to find out the hard drive is completely full. so the studio owner is pissed because another engineer had a shitload of old projects on there he had never backed up.
the owner canceled the session for the day and asked me to reformat an external hard drive so i can copy the files off of the hard drive to it, while still paying me for the hours i worked. so the owner left and the guitarist/singer brought some beers and hung out for a while as the computer was formatting the drives and copying a 25 gig session out, through usb 1.0 connection by the way (a 9 hour process)! so we had some time to kill.
