"Grainy" ?

Lets discuss this topic for a bit.
Where you think grainy gtrs sound come from?
Mic placement? Amps eq? How to avoid it?

For instance ,you could set ur amp very dark sounding, but placing the mic more towards the center of the cone to compensate, or either set the amp bright and do the opossite. Its an interesting thing

What are ur thoughts about this? What combination of above seems to work best for you?

I guess it could be from the amps eq... how to avoid it ? Spend like 10,000 hours messing with ur amp lol.. Also what u say bout the mic placement is very important...
