Grind/death/hardcore mix (real drums 5150 etc)

Hi guys!

I´m currently working on my band "God Mother" new release. It´s some kind of fast grind/death/hardcore influeced by Afgrund, Rotten Sound etc.

We recorded this in our rehersal space.

Drums: Tama Straclassic + Pearl Brass snare.

Guitar: Peavey 5150 + 4x12 Orange Greenback and 2x12 Orange v30

Bass: Peavey 400 thru Rat pedal into 2x15.

Vocals: Shure sm7b


What do you guys think of the mix so far?
I´m pretty happy with it, but I feel it might still need some work.

The mix sounds muddy as hell!
Cant even make out what the guitars are playing..
You might want to look in on the rhythms, there´s something weird going on in there, and something boxy too.
The kick also seems to mask alot of things.

Hm, Yeah I get what you are saying.
I´m not going for the ultra clean mix where you here everything seperated but more for the Nails or Rotten Sound typ of mix with a lot of chaos. But Maybe I have overdone it a bit.

In what way do you mean there is something weird with the rhythms?

That bassguitar is just dominating everything, bring that down quite a bit so we can hear how the rest of the mix works together. The rest of what i can hear sounds cool to me

Here is my second try on this. Worked on trying to get some more clarity in the mix and less low end rumble.
Think it definitely became better, but maybe it still needs some more work..
