I've never heard a single note of any of Soundgarden's songs.

Oh damn really?

Chris Cornells vocals are quite amazing, I'm sure you have heard Audioslave (same vocalist but with Rage Against the Machine members on the insturments) well times them by 50 and you have SoundGarden

I actually really love Alice in Chains, but I'm totally against them touring again, it seems disrespectful and also nobody can ever do Layne Staley justice.

Yeah, Staley had a one of a kind style.

Grunge isn't even a real genre. It's a title that was placed on bands that came out of seattle. I don't see enough similarities between Nirvana, Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam to classify grunge as a genre.

Soundgarden and Alice In Chains were amazing bands....I am still a big fan, but most of the "grunge heroes" of early 90`s are making bad music today.....I mean for me Pearl Jam had great first album "Ten", but after that they didn´t have one good album, Stone Temple Pilots Singer is in this Velvet Revolver Band, Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters can´t be really taken seriously, Chris Cornell (amazing vocalist) and Audioslave are not that bad, but not to compare with Soundgarden or RATM, Alice In Chains want to tour again, but that won´t work without Lane Staley......

I saw Alice In Chains open up on the "Clash Of The Titans" tour with Anthrax, Slayer, and Megadeth back in 1991, right before they hit it big. During the intermission after Alice's set, Layne Staley was walking right out in the audience on the main floor. I thought that was the coolest thing.

I liked a lot of grunge. Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Stone Temple Pilots stand out to me the most.

Agreed, Nirvana - punk/rock, AIC-rock/metal, Pearl Jam - Rock, Soundgarden - Heavy Metal (early)/Rock (later).

But still all great, even classic bands.
