Anyone with experience building one of these?

I'm building one of these tomorrow to isolate my avatar 2x12 (which is 12.5” x 28.5” x 20.5” and am trying to figure out the best way to go about doing it.

Basically, There's a 33" gap between my wall and my desk where I'd ideally like the box to sit.

So I was hoping to make the total width of the box about 32".

I read somewhere a "Golden Ratio" Isobox that was 6’x4x’3’, or 72”x48”x36”

If I shrunk it for my tastes it would be 48” x 32” x 24”

I'm using 3" Roxul Safe and sound (which in theory doesnt leave enough space... but its pretty squishy.

My only concern is the height... I have tonnes of space to expand up and and out but not width.

Would making the box slightly taller destroy the whole ratio?

Or does the ratio work when you swap length and height (essentially turning the "Golden Room" on it's side)

That would give me 64” x 32” x 42.67”

which seems mega big...

Also.... should I be taking into consideration that the speaker is actually 12.5" into the middle of the box and not against the wall?

Or am I just completely lost

help?
