So I was thinking of getting new pickups for my first guitar.. it's old budget crap.. But I like it..

It has humbuckers.. but I put a bid on (online auction) Seymour & Duncan LW-HS1 (for strat), which is a singlecoils (?)..
Would it fit?
I guess I could chomp out some wood if needed out of the 'ol guitar..
Do you think it could be used for metal?

It's a new pair of pickups.. the package hasn't been opened..
It's not certain I'm winning.. but.. the auctions almost over and there's only 2 bids.. and I still haven't reached the maximum limit on my budget..

Good to know for future reference in any case..

EDIT:

I won the auction.. :D
Haha, didn't think I'd do that..

So I got a pair of brand new Seymour & Duncan LW-HS1 (according to the box they cost 150 euro) for 26 Euro..
Not bad..

So yeah.. the questions are still relevant.. :)

So you bought single coils to put in a guitar routed for humbuckers to play metal? This just seems like an all around bad idea. It should work but you are going to have gaping holes in your guitar from the humbucker routing and you are not going to get typical metal tone/gain out of those pups.

Haha, well.. I put a low bid.. didn't think I'd win..
I guess I could sell them for a higher price and get some nice humbucker for my schecter instead..

Seems like a waste of time to have bothered..
I got a DiMarzio D-Sonic for $60 on ebay for my Schecter.. absolutely amazing.
