Guitar: Sabre players in here?

I do play... and I do own a Ibanez but not a sabre. I own one Ibanez 7-string, one Jackson Kelly (my main guitar), one Charvell Randy Rhoads, one BC Rich Bich and some acuostic guitars...

I actually use a 7 string RG, but I'm thinking of switching to a 7-string Saber, if, I can find one. The Ibanez RGs are too heavy for me.
Hey TestamentNut why don't you post a picture of your Saber so we can all see it :)

Don't buy a guitar just because a particular artist does... buy it cause it does something for you...

Personally, I'm into USA Jacksons.

i bought the saber because i always saw people playing them and wondered why. they are killer guitars. its hard to believe theres so much tone in such a small bodied guitar.

does owning a famous guitar count too? i bought one off james many years back. lol yes i do have the pics to prove it too.

i can just give a description of it, james can verify that i own it. he signed and mail it to me. its a Charvel st-? foirgot the number. its a late 80's strat with 2 singles and 1 humbucker. the paint has been sanded of the body and back of the neck. it has a floyd rose and also looks like it was re-fretted(james?). the logo is the scrawled charvel logo. the 2 single coils i believe are seymours hot rails, not sure. the bridge is jacksons cheapo version of an emg, but still a sweet pickup!

He's sent me the pics of it a few months ago. He even has a pic of JM signing it for him I think . Very cool guitar.

JAH

I own a black Ibanez Sabre (540 perhaps?) and I love it. It's really light and has a fast neck. Bill Steer from the mighty Carcass also used this guitar.

i plan to have a local luthier build me a custom sabre copy. i'd prefer the ibanez cusom shop, but i know they are $$$ and i dont even know anything about custom shops.

First post to this forum, so a quick hi all to everyone!
I've been a Saber addict for years, if you're after one have a look for the late eighties models. I have two 540S-SH models (one single coil one bucker) with the old IBZ USA pups in them and they really scream. To my ears the warmth and sustain of the body make it a far more versatile instrument than the RG (with exception of the mahogony bodied versions) has always struck me as a little sterile sounding.

EDIT: BLEUCH sorry about the avatar pic I'm used to 70x70 what are we using 140x140 or something?
