Guitarist Quits SUM 41 To Form 'Classic Metal' Band - May 12, 2006
MTV.com is reporting that guitarist Dave "Brownsound" Baksh has left Canadian pop-punk band SUM 41 in order to focus his creative energies on his new metal band called BROWN BRIGADE. According to Upper Management, the company that represents Baksh, BROWN BRIGADE will have more of a "classic metal" feel to it. Baksh is currently working on songs and auditioning singers for the band.

I saw a documentary on Sum 41 a few years back.

The members are influenced by old school metal, especially Iron Maiden. I highly doubt he'll do some Metallica crap. They (Sum 41) has a song about a minute long that could definetly be a Maiden song.

I'm actually curious to see what he'll put together.

I remember that song. It wasn't too bad. I think they had a video for it too, and the singer was wearing a Rob Halford-esque outfit. I don't know.

should be interesting

well i heard their last album, 'Chuck' and it was like half old metallica riffs and half catchy pop punk. it was pretty good for popular radio type stuff, maybe his new metal band with be alright. hopefully he can use his sum 41 fame to get more metal riffs on the radio and MTV.
