Guitarists whats your set up?

Washburn WG228 with Floyd Rose Tremolo (blocked) HSH configuration...this is my main guitar
Austin strat with a standard tremolo and a SSH config...backup guitar
Rogue piece of shit bass

Amp: Fender 100 watt bassman with a 7 band EQ...fucking love it

Pedal: Digitech RP100...it's got everything I need

my next purchase will probably be an OLP John petrucci MM. Musician's Friend has it for $350, but I'm talking to a guy I know at Guitar Center to get it around $250.

Here's my gear list:

main rig:
Kramer Vanguard Pro w/ a Duncan SH6 in the bridge
Jackson SLSMG w/ a Duncan SH4 in the bridge (both of these have 10-52 sets in D standard)
Digitech Metal Master
Mesa Boogie Mark IV
Boss GE7 EQ through the loop
Mesa Recto 4x12 w/ Vintage 30's
Dunlop Gator Grip 1.5mm picks (a must for me)

at the band room:
Line6 Flextone IIIXL 150watt (sounds sooooo goddamn good!)
line6 floorboard
at home:
Line6 POD 2.0

pretty simple. i dont use effects really, maybe some reverb for leads and a little reverb and delay for clean stuff

Guitars:
7 Strings: Custom, Ibanez Prestige Neck and custom body - HSH
Universe (Black, newest one I believe) - HSH
Universe (Green, back during Dream Theaters Awake days)
Jackson Rhoads type model - H H

Thats awesome, everyone has killer rigs.

I use an 89 Ibanez 540 Sabre with Dimarzio Evo's tuned to C as my main guitar and a Cort M520 (prs style copy) as my second guitar(which sounds awesome even with the stock pick ups).

I use a POD 2.0 and a Mesa TriAxis with a Mesa 4x12 cab.

The stuff my band plays is like Lamb of God, In Flames, Nevermore etc but solo stuff is more like a mix betweeen Carcass and Vai

Ampeg VH-140c Head
Crate Blue Voodoo 4x12 Cab
Shitty black Kramer guitar.

Back up amp:
Crate GX 10 watt combo amp, something like that.

Old set up:
Peavy Bandit 100 watt Combo.

Schecter 007 Elite (2003 version w/2hum and coiltap)
Jackson RX10D (modified with EMG81/85 set. I never use this guitar anymore but I refuse to sell it)
cheap classical accoustic
some piece of shit Ibanez bass that I've "borrowed"

cheap 30 watt Marshall amp (I never use this anymore)
Boss MetalZone pedal

generally I just run a line-in into my computer through a cheap Behringer mixer for all my playing these days. I only ever do home recording.

Who needs bands? The bass player will only fuck your girlfriend and the drummer will only eat all your food.

I'm not a guitarist, but I help write the music in my band, so I guess that qualifies me.

As for styles, different styles of metal, classical, and whatever acoustic thing intrigues me at the time

are the emg 707's as good i people say they are? ie; more definition, punch, and high end crunch than they stock blazes in the UVs? im considering upgrading to those or the new 81-7....

Well......some people don't like EMG's or prefer the Seymour Duncan 7 string pickups, but we (Rannoch) have the 707's in our guitars and they sound sweet. Haven't seen/heard the 81-7 but if it's a 7 string version of the 81 then it's going to sound nice. The Blaze p-ups in the new Universes are very good, though the green DiMarzios in my UV7BK squeal a bit at higher gains, which can be annoying if you do a lot of staccato riffing, whereas the 707's don't. Also bear in mind the EMG 707's are wider than standard p-ups so you'll have to butcher your UV to get 'em in which will be costly and might spoil it!!!

Thats a sweet set up! There are few here.

I have noticed that a lot of you have LTD H207, I had one and was not that keen on it, I only had the stock duncan designs in it maybe thats what was wrong and the neck was a lot fatter than most Ibanez 7's I have played....
