According to Hollywood Life, GUNS N' ROSES is planning a tribute to Prince during their performance tonight (Saturday, April 23) at the Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival in Indio, California. "Slash is planning to have his guitar solo [during the show] be a tribute to Prince, and GN'R is looking to do most likely 'Purple Rain' as a tribute during Coachella this weekend," an unidentified "source" told the site. Prince died unexpectedly on Thursday (April 21) at the age of 57 in his Minnesota home. Reports of Prince's death began surfacing Thursday morning and were soon confirmed by his publicist. At press time, the death was being investigated and a cause of death had not yet been announced. The singer was said to be ill with the flu in recent weeks. Only singer Axl Rose, Slash and bassist Duff McKagan from GUNS N' ROSES ' "Appetite For Destruction"-era lineup took part in the five shows the band has played this month. They were joined by keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer. Also appearing with them was second keyboardist Melissa Reese. A full GUNS N' ROSES North American tour is on tap for this summer. GUNS N' ROSES is getting a reported $8 million for its two appearances at Coachella and an average of $2.75 million per show on the tour.
