Yay?
Nay?

What are your thoughts on Chinese Democracy?

I just got it, and I have to admit, I LOVE IT. I don't see why it gets so much shit from people...

Better, If the World, There Was a Time, Catcher in the Rye, Madagascar and This I Love are all AMAZING in my opinion. And the album credits made me laugh really hard. There's a full page of Axl's "Thank you's"

Great band, I mean the real Guns N Roses, not Axl's project.

i fucking LOVE Guns n Roses. Use your illusion 1 and 2 are easily in my top ten albums of all time. except don't cry which is pretty bent. and on both albums.

no one can argue with locomotive, and coma. geeeenius.

Wot Matt said

I was a huge fan of GNR when they 1st came out and I really did enjoy the UYI 1&2, Coma was my fav track in UYI 1 and Estranged was my fav in UYI2

But then Axl started becoming overblown like his video for November Rain and it just put me off completely and I have never heard any tracks from Chinesse Democracy and I don't intend to

i don't mind chinese democracy at all. its a good rock album with some decent tunes but hardy in the same league as appetite for destruction. its a shame axl wasted so many years doing nothing when he's got such a great singing voice

Appetite is Awesome, UYI I is not great, II is my favourite. I remember my best mate getting UYI2 for xmas from his sister ("shhh... don't tell your mum! ) when we were 11, and looking at the lyrics and deciding straight away that it was the coolest album ever  Still like it the best: Civil War, Estranged, you Could Be Mine, Pretty Tied Up, 14 Years... all cracking. The first one passes me by other than coma, Live and Let Die and November Rain... Appetite I came to later and it's fucking solid. Nighttrain will always be an utter beast.

Chinese Democracy? Disappointing. A couple of good songs but no more...

Yeh but he said albums, and an EP isn't an album. If I recall correctly Spaghetti Incident has Gilby Clarke on guitar, which means Izzy had left, which makes it post-Illusions... I can't be arsed checking but I'm sure that's right...

I've checked it

Illusions was released in 91 and Incident was released in 93

As I said I thought Incident was earlier, but hey, when you get to my age memory does funny things to you
