I can't believe I've never seen a discussion here on the guy. What a great fuckin' vocalist. I'm not a big power metal fan anymore, but I still can listen to blind guardian because Hansi is REDICULOUS.

I have to say, I've always thought he was overrated. Don't get me wrong, I like his voice. I think he possesses one of the most unique voices in Metal. However, his range has always seemed limited, and the way he enunciates is horrible. I also much prefer him in small doses. His studio cameos with with Edguy and Angra are stellar. No matter who he shares the mic with, it always sounds fantastic, because his voice is so original.

By the way, according to the interview I did with Schaffer, BG should currently be in pre-production for their next CD.

I like him. Not as much as I used to, but yeah, I like him. Seems to do really well in cameo spots.

When it comes to clean vox, I'm swaying much more towards Jorn Lande these days in complete gay-like tendencies. That singer in Thunderstone does quite a good impression too.

I like BG, or at least Nightfall in Middle-earth. But I've been struggling all morning to remember what the hell this dude's voice sounds like. Must be real distinctive.

Their music was first rate, Grade A cheese, but I enjoyed it somewhat. The vocals ruined it for me, though, as do most wailing clean vox. But the queso was laid on super thick with those choruses. Holy Moly.

It is actually quite distinctive, especially in the way he pronounces the letter "r" in "Iron".

Ok I checked out Nightfall in Middle-Earth and Follow the Blind.

I liked the old stuff a LOT better! I dunno why, I'm a big LotR fan so the idea of an album like NiME is cool, but it was just too cheesy for me. Some of the music was good, but... I dunno, i just couldn't keep listening to it.
