The Pig
The Chinese name for Pig is "Zhu" (pronounced similar to zoo in English) which is a sign of honesty.
The Pig is a fun and enlightening personality blessed with patience and understanding.
People born under the sign of the Pig enjoy life and all it has to offer, including family and friends.
They are honest and thoughtful and expect the same of other people.
Pigs can be perceived as gullible because they do care about others so much,
they will do just about anything for a friend in need.
Pigs are more comfortable giving of their own time or attention than they are to ask others for it.
They do not find asking for help an easy task and would rather carry the burden themselves.
Pigs will do anything they can to maintain a sense of peace amongst family or friends.
This can lead to a tendency to be taken advantage of, but Pigs basically forgive and forget everything.
They are compassionate souls who simply want to keep the peace.

9
Nine was considered to be a sacred number by the ancients and was consequently not assigned a numerical equivalent, to any letter in the Chaldean alphabet.
It represents change, invention and growth which springs forth from inspiration.
Nine has traditionally held esoteric significance which is evidenced by the fact,
that it takes nine calendar months to bring a baby into the world from its initial conception.

And for those who are too lazy to read above and don't think for themselves:
The Year of the Pig, 2007, in the Hsia calendar, is symbolized by two elements – with fire sitting on top of water.
According to the cycle of birth and destruction, which governs the inter-relationship between the elements, fire will be conquered by water. Therefore, fire sitting on water is a symbol of conflict and skirmish and this may bring a relatively less peaceful year with more international conflicts and struggles.

How does one find out about their element?
All I know is that I was born in the year of the Sheep.

Happy 2007 Iris! Thanks for the interesting read :)

It's absurd that peace is only but a 5 letter word. :(
I hate war.

You're right, you're Earth.
Do you know your time of birth?
The hour in which you were born is also related to an element and sign.
Here goes:

1979 = Earth- Sheep
September= Water- Rooster
16th= Fire- Dog
