Around a dozen Harmony Central amp forumites are putting together a compilation metal CD. I know a few of them come here too.

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=862889&content=songinfo&songID=7771360

Tell me what you think!

The album will be available to download for free in the near future. We plan on pressing a load to send out to labels, reviewers, metal zines etc etc to try and break one of the bands.

Starts off with:
hydrodjent
ENdtime
Theyfyn
ENDITOL
Thinkpad/insurrection
EXAFRO
judgement
Tesseract

Black Neon Bobs is also on the disk. I know he hangs out here too.

it's because you said the words "harmony central amp forum" :D

Yeah, probably. ;)

Haha.. but this is a NICE idea though dudes.. regardless what you all think of the harmony central amp forum, it's free and a nice boost for the bands compilated.

definately, and some of the music does sound pretty good i have to admit. there was one really melodicy djenty band in there near the middle that had some amazing instrumentals going on that I was really getting into but then there was some really fucking bad old school heavy metal, high pitched vocals drenched in reverb that just ruined it for me D:
but yeah, some good tunes in there either way
and do tesseract really need the exposure? :D haha

I was just being drunk, I think it's a good compilation, even though I'd rather have my favourites on a separate CD.

Should have it mastered at the same place though, to get some consistency.

I am "mastering" the CD right now.. however, some songs are allready limited, some are not.. some are loud, some low in volume.
Im just setting them in the right order now, adjust volume on the tracks so they are consistent, and making sure the pauzes in between are correct.

Should be okay.. :kickass:

I wish people wouldn't post links to this forum on HCAF :(
there are some good people there (like some of the guys participating in this project for example), but the majority of the posters there are just "the failorz!!11!!"

Harmony Central is the general public when it comes to musicians. The whole range of skill/age/opinions etc is there.

Good bad and ugly. Chaos.

Mostly bad and ugly. I went there trying to hang and talk once and just got called a noob. So in lesser words......Fuck em.

That said the ones who come here that are from there are obviously the cool ones.

EDIT: and too add also, I think this is a great idea and I fully support it.

a couple of peeps on the amp forum were admittedly pretty chill
but maybe thats cos the first thing i ever posted on there was a sweeet mix

i used like the review section to i have to admit
but since i discovered this forum id take any sneap forumites word on the quality of a piece of gear over a bunch of peeps who just want gutshots rather than an actual fair, good demonstration

The first time I went there, I had been playing for 10 years, and my gear was absolutely shocking, and I didn't even know it. I went there with it in my mind to buy 2 cheap loud SS combos, change the speakers and use a GNX 4 because it has just came out.

I was dead set on the GNX, but at least they heavily influenced me to get a guitar power amp and 2 4x12's to power it.

The GNX didn't last long, and I then went with their main suggestion for my budget. A 5150 combo. Which all of a sudden changed everything for me recording and band mix wise.

Now I still go there for recommendations/reviews of new speakers etc etc but mostly I go there for the community social side of it. There is a lot of off topic stuff which at times has been some of the funniest stuff I have ever witnessed.

The Sneap forum is all business and I like that when I have some more specific question for recording and bass tone etc etc.

Make sure my track is louder than all the rest by a huge margin.
