Has anyone ever heard of.............

Nice and tricky, Paxo!
Steve Johnson was a singer/guitarist and a mate of Phil Lynott. He did a little songwriting with the The Thin Lizzy bass player.
Steve Johnson is the brother of a certain bass player named Fasker Johnson - aka, Paul Johnson, bass player for Saxon during the 'Destiny' era.
The two Johnson brothers ended up in a band called 'Bailey's Comet' which, interestingly featured Nigel Durham on the drums!

Although, I'm not so sure if Steve Johnson was actually in Thin Lizzy? But they had so many line up and name changes during the seventies it could be true!!

Is this what you were after, Paxo?

Not bad nightwar! The reason I asked was this. Yes Steve Johnson is the brother of Paul Johnson, and Steve has his own band now call Guns n Oatcakes. They are a covers band are quite good (I saw them on Friday in Rochdale). I've heard various stories about Steve Johnson, and he seems very full of himself. Apparently he was in Thin Lizzy (according to him), but this was just before Phil Lynott died. Apparently Phil Lynott was going to reform Thin Lizzy and Steve Johnson was going to be one of the guitarist (presumably for John Sykes who would have been in Whitesnake at the time). As I say, Steve Johnson seems to be very full of himself and thinks he is some sort of superstar. But I've never heard of him, let alone knew he was in Thin Lizzy! I was just wondering if anyone else had ever heard of him.

Incidentally, Paul Johnson occasonally plays bass for Guns n Oatcakes (he wasn't playing on Friday). But now Paul has a proper job, he is a driving instructor!

Paxo - Apologies for the delayed response. My home PC has major problems at the moment so I have to exploit the work PC whenever possible!

I did read somewhere that Paul Johnson makes cameo appearances for a band now and then. And now I know its name!

I think you have summed up Steve Johnson pretty well. I'm sure he is a nice enough guy, but I don't think he was ever a major factor in Phil Lynott's life!

Thanks for the trivia!
